Urethane in Carpet - Removal
Follow these Steps to Remove Polyurethane from Carpet:
If a fresh spill of polyurethane and not very heavy:
- Blot up.
- Use Pro-Solve Liquid Liquid Solvent Spotter.
If the polyurethane has dried:
- Blot with acetone, avoiding delaminating the carpet backing.
- If this fails, the affected carpet section may have to be replaced.
- Moisture-cured polyurethanes can only be removed with very strong paint strippers containing acid activated methylene chloride, which is toxic and will definitely delaminate the carpet.
