Tape Residue on Carpet Removal
How to Remove Adhesive Tape Residue from Carpets and Rugs
TOOLS NEEDED to REMOVE SPOT:
- Carpet Shark Spotting Tool by Pro’s Choice
- Pro Spotter Extractor Machine
- Turkish Spotting Towels
CHEMICAL AGENTS NEEDED:
- Citrus APS™ Spotter
- Power Gel by Pro’s Choice
- Saf-T-Solv™ solvent spotter
- Pro-Solve Gel Spot and Stain Remover by Pro’s Choice
- Stain Blotter by Pro’s Choice
- OPTIONAL: Spotting Kit
PROCEDURE to REMOVE Adhesive Tape Residue from Carpet or Rug:
- Apply Citrus APS to spotting towel.
- Wet contaminated fibers with Citrus APS™ Spotter on the towel and blot.
- Agitate with your Carpet Shark or a Bone Scraper to loosen tape residue and scrape up loosened residue.
- Thoroughly extract.
- Dry blot.
- NOTE: Saf-T-Solv may be used instead of Citrus APS.
- To prevent wicking, sprinkle Stain Blotter absorbent powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
IF SPOT or STAIN REMAINS:
- Wet contaminated fibers with Pro-Solve Gel.
- Agitate gently but thoroughly with your Carpet Shark or a Bone Scraper to dissolve contamination.
- Allow dwell time.
- Apply Power Gel to contaminated fibers.
- Again agitate gently but thoroughly.
- Very thoroughly rinse using hot water extraction. Leave as dry as possible.
- To prevent wicking, sprinkle Stain Blotter absorbent powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
- The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
PRECAUTIONS:
- NEVER apply strong solvents directly to carpet to avoid delamination.

He used Saf-T-Solv™ solvent spotter to remove the adhesive tape residue from the carpet, then presprayed the area with TLS® 2000 and extracted with Bane-Clene truckmounted extractor containing a mixture of PCA™ Formula 5 and Booster™
