StoneTech Grout Sealer
StoneTech™ All Purpose Grout Sealer Water-Based Grout Sealer
from Bane-Clene® Corp.
Apply StoneTech Grout Sealer to Grout to Prevent Tough, Hard to Remove Stains & Makes Grout Easier to Clean!
Features and Benefits of All Purpose Grout Sealer:
- StoneTech™ All Purpose Grout Sealer provides “natural look” protection for grout against stains, oils and dirt.
- Formulated with advanced water-based Advanced Generation Polymer Penetrating Sealers to protect grout against both oil & water-based stains.
- Treated with an antimicrobial agent to inhibit growth of bacterial odors and resist growth of mold, mildew and fungus on the dried sealer.
- Protects against oil and water-based stains.
- This is a penetrating sealer which means that you should only have to lay down a couple of coats and you’ll be good to go for a decade or more. This can help to offset the high cost when you figure in the maintenance required for non-penetrating seals which must be removed in between applications.
- Grout will be easier to clean and will stay clean longer.
- Easy to use.
- Does not change the color of most grout. However, as with any sealer we do recommend testing a small inconspicuous area for desired results.
- Water-based formula.
- Nearly odorless.
- Nonflammable.
- Interior and exterior use.
- For use on countertops, showers, ceramic and stone tile floors and anywhere grout is found.
Properties of Gout Sealer:
- Coverage approximately: 600 - 1000 linear feet per gallon.
- Expected Wear (With Proper Care): 3-5 years on interior surfaces and 1-3 years on exterior surfaces.
Directions for Using All Purpose Grout Sealer:
- NOTE: Epoxy grout, found in hospitals and most restaurants, does not need to be sealed.
- Test in a small inconspicuous area with a 24-hour dry time to determine the ease of application and desired results.
- Allow new grout installations to cure for a minimum of 72 hours prior to application.
- Make sure surface is clean, dry and free of waxes and coatings.
- The surface temperature of the stone should be between 50-80°F before sealing.
- Mask off and protect any baseboards or adjacent areas to avoid splashing and overspray onto surfaces not intended to be treated.
- Liberally apply sealer to grout lines with a paintbrush or narrow paint roller.
- Allow a minimum of 15-30 minutes for sealer to penetrate and soak into the surface.
- A second coat is recommended and should be applied 15-30 minutes after initial application as directed above.
- A minimum of 15-30 minutes after final application, wipe entire surface with a clean towel dampened with sealer or water to remove any residue and excess sealer.
- If sealer was not completely wiped off and a residue appears, wipe entire surface with a towel dampened with sealer. Use a white nylon pad to loosen residue and wipe surface with a clean, white absorbent towel.
- Full cure is achieved in 24-72 hours.
- Clean equipment with water.
Proper Care of Sealed Grout:
- Highly alkaline, acidic, ammoniated or abrasive cleaners are not necessary for daily maintenance and may also degrade the grout sealer, adversely affecting stain resistance.
- Clean ceramic tile & grout as needed with StoneTech Daily Use Revitalizer™ Tile and Stone Cleaner and Protector or All Purpose Stone & Tile Cleaner.
- For tough or difficult to remove soil use StoneTech Klenz-All™ Cleaner, a nylon scrubbing pad or a long handled stiff bristle brush. Resealing may be necessary after extremely heavy-duty cleaning.
- NOTE: Prior to using any cleaning material on a tile, stone, etc. installation, test a discrete area or scrap piece of tile to insure desired results.
