Starch on Carpet - How to Remove

Follow these Steps to Remove Laundry Starch from Carpet:

  1. Blot with alcohol to help thin it and dissolve the starch.
  2. Blot with Saf-T-Solv™ Dry Volatile Solvent Spotter or Pro-Solve Liquid Solvent Spotter.
  3. Extract.
  4. If extremely heavy, use the Water Claw® Sub-Surface Spot Lifter to more thoroughly flush out the spill.
  5. Heavily sprinkle Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
  6. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
  7. If these steps do not remove the starch:
    1. Spray TLS® 2000 at 1:10 with water.
    2. Agitate.
    3. Extract.
    4. Flush with Brown Out® at 2 ounces per gallon to neutralize the high alkalinity from the TLS 2000.
    5. If stain resist nylon carpet, treat with Sta-Clene®, Bane-Guard™ or Teflon® to restore stain resistance.
