Follow These Steps to Remove Soot From Carpet:

It is EXTREMELY important that you NOT get this material wet initially!

1. Vacuum very thoroughly, working from the outside toward the center to keep from spreading the material (no brush initially).
2. Then vacuum with the brush or pile lift. Pile lifting is too aggressive on Frieze style carpet.
3. Apply Power Gel, agitate, very thoroughly extract and dry blot to avoid wicking.
4. Lightly brush or groom to align fibers.
5. If discoloration remains, apply Pro-Solve Gel Thickened Solvent-Based Spot & Stain Remover using a trigger sprayer and agitate gently followed by extraction.
6. If a heavy spill, use Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder to prevent wicking.
7. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
8. Of course, if the customer has tried to remove it before you arrived or a herd of elephants has walked on the carpet and ground in the material, you are unlikely to remove it all.
