Ridding a room of skunk odor is always the same story - a dog tangled with a skunk and lost!

Procedure to follow:

  • Thoroughly clean or toss out anything that is contaminated.
  • Open the windows in the home to ventilate it.
  • Let natural sunlight and fresh air in to help neutralize the skunk odor.
  • Run fans to get air moving, preferably moving the inside air to the outside.
  • Replace the furnace filters.
  • Professionals use ozone odor control machines to get rid of the odor in a room.
  • Additionally, for any remaining odor, X-Cide Odor Killer may be required.
  • A common household remedy is sometimes used by combining 1 quart of 3% household hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 teaspoon of dish washing liquid and water added as needed. NOTE: Peroxide may remove color from fabrics and can burn skin and eyes!
