How to Remove Liquid Shoe Polish Stain on CarpetDo It Yourself Method for Removing Liquid Shoe Polish from Carpet or Rug:

  1. Blot dry with a dry WHITE absorbent towel.
  2. Blot with an Acetone-based nail polish remover.
  3. Blot with odorless mineral spirits or alcohol on a white towel.
  4. Do not pour solvents directly on the carpet or you my destroy the latex glue holding the primary and secondary backing together.
  5. Blot with a solution of 1 teaspoon maximum of liquid HAND dish washing detergent per cup of lukewarm water.
  6. Blot with a solution of 2 tablespoons of HOUSEHOLD ammonia per cup of water.
  7. Blot with lukewarm water with a white towel.
