Pencil Lead Removal on Carpet

Follow these Steps to Remove Pencil Lead From Carpet

  1. This would usually simply be from spilling a pencil sharpener catch bowl onto the carpet.
  2. It is EXTREMELY important that you NOT get this material wet initially!
  3. Vacuum very thoroughly, working from the outside toward the center to keep from spreading the material (no brush initially).
  4. Then vacuum with the brush or Pile Lifter. Pile lifting is too aggressive on Frieze style carpet.
  5. Apply Power Gel, agitate, apply Pro-Solve Gel Thickened Solvent-Based Spot & Stain Remover, very thoroughly extract and dry blot to avoid wicking.
  6. Lightly brush or groom to align fibers.
  7. If discoloration remains, apply Citrus APS™ Spotter and agitate gently followed by extraction.
  8. If a heavy spill, use Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder to prevent wicking.
  9. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
  10. Of course, if the customer has tried to remove it before you arrived or a herd of elephants has walked on the carpet and ground in the material, you are unlikely to remove it all.
