Pencil Lead Removal on Carpet
Follow these Steps to Remove Pencil Lead From Carpet
- This would usually simply be from spilling a pencil sharpener catch bowl onto the carpet.
- It is EXTREMELY important that you NOT get this material wet initially!
- Vacuum very thoroughly, working from the outside toward the center to keep from spreading the material (no brush initially).
- Then vacuum with the brush or Pile Lifter. Pile lifting is too aggressive on Frieze style carpet.
- Apply Power Gel, agitate, apply Pro-Solve Gel Thickened Solvent-Based Spot & Stain Remover, very thoroughly extract and dry blot to avoid wicking.
- Lightly brush or groom to align fibers.
- If discoloration remains, apply Citrus APS™ Spotter and agitate gently followed by extraction.
- If a heavy spill, use Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder to prevent wicking.
- The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
- Of course, if the customer has tried to remove it before you arrived or a herd of elephants has walked on the carpet and ground in the material, you are unlikely to remove it all.
