Paint (Oil-based) Spill on Carpet - How to Remove

Follow these Steps to Remove Oil-Based Paint from Carpet:

If the oil-based paint on the carpet is still wet:

  1. Blot up as much of the paint as possible with a dry towel.
  2. Blot with Saf-T-Solv™ Dry Volatile Solvent Spotter.
  3. Thoroughly extract the carpet and dry.
  4. Apply a bead of the Pro-Solve Gel Thickened Solvent-Based Spot & Stain Remover to the area to be treated, agitate, apply a bead of Power Gel, agitate and extract.
  5. NOTE: Some paints and varnishes, especially if left on the carpet too long, will not come up with normal spotters and solvents.
  6. In that case, if the paint is on the tips of some of the fibers, remove just the paint on the tips with the Duckbill Napping Shears.
  7. If the paint is in a larger area or beyond just the tips of the fibers, replace the affected carpet using the Cookie Cutter Professional Carpet Repair Kit.
