Paint (Oil-based) Spill on Carpet - How to Remove
Follow these Steps to Remove Oil-Based Paint from Carpet:
If the oil-based paint on the carpet is still wet:
- Blot up as much of the paint as possible with a dry towel.
- Blot with Saf-T-Solv™ Dry Volatile Solvent Spotter.
- Thoroughly extract the carpet and dry.
- Apply a bead of the Pro-Solve Gel Thickened Solvent-Based Spot & Stain Remover to the area to be treated, agitate, apply a bead of Power Gel, agitate and extract.
- NOTE: Some paints and varnishes, especially if left on the carpet too long, will not come up with normal spotters and solvents.
- In that case, if the paint is on the tips of some of the fibers, remove just the paint on the tips with the Duckbill Napping Shears.
- If the paint is in a larger area or beyond just the tips of the fibers, replace the affected carpet using the Cookie Cutter Professional Carpet Repair Kit.
