How to remove ketchup spill stain on carpet

How to Remove Ketchup, Tomato-based Sauces from Carpet

  1. Have customer scrape up excess and leave weighted moist white towel on affected area overnight.
  2. Scrape off unabsorbed material.
  3. Blot with warm water and absorb with a clean, dry, white towel.
  4. Mix Pro-Zyme Heavy Soil & Grease Digester according to directions on bottle.
  5. Apply Pro-Zyme solution to stained fibers to thoroughly wet fibers.
  6. Gently but thoroughly agitate fibers to break up and emulsify deposit. Allow dwell time to help the biochemistry work for you here.
  7. Thoroughly rinse via water extraction leaving carpet as dry as possible (do not use an acid rinsing agent here).
  8. Stain Magic® 2-Part Stain Remover for Organic and Natural Stains treatment may be required for any remaining stain.
  9. To prevent wicking, heavily sprinkle Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
  10. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.

SUGGESTIONS AND CAUTIONS:

Also, you may experience wicking on heavier deposits. If deposit is heavy enough to have soaked through backing and into pad, replace the contaminated pad and clean carpet backing as outlined in Steps 1 through 5 above.

Wicking can be corrected by using an absorbent powder such as Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder. Simply cover spot liberally with Stain Blotter following your stain removal process. The wicking will go into the Stain Blotter and can then be vacuumed away when dry.

TIP: Stain 1 Stain Remover for Organic and Natural Stains will make most re-occurring stains disappear.
