How to Remove Hair Shampoo from Carpet
What ingredients are in dandruff shampoos? As an example, Dove® Daily Moisture Shampoo made by Unilever contains:
- Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (very foamy), Glycol Distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine (very foamy), Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium Edta (water softener), Amodimethicone, Dmdm Hydantoin, Peg-45M, Tea-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate (very foamy), Cocamide Mea (very foamy), Lysine Hcl, Arginine, Peg-9M, Cetrimonium Chloride, Ppg-9, Propylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow 5 (dye), Red 33 (dye).
Directions to remove hair shampoo from carpet:
- If the shampoo has dried in the carpet, it will be thick and sticky. Blot with rubbing alcohol to thin it out and make it easier to remove.
- Scrape up as much as possible.
- Blot with a solution of 1 teaspoon maximum of liquid HAND dish washing detergent per cup of lukewarm water.
- Blot with lukewarm water with a white towel until there is no more foam.
- Blot dry with a dry WHITE absorbent towel.
