Don Terry:

Just a note to pass on to you a success story that you were a big part of.

Recently a housewife in Fond du Lac called our store in a panic asking how to clean a large spot of grape juice she had spilled on her new carpet the night before. I told her I could come to her house on the way to a cleaning job and look at the carpet and then stop later in the day and work on the stain. On arrival at her home, she explained to me the following:

  1. She spilled a large glass of grape juice on the carpet.
  2. She had heard that shaving cream worked well on spots, so she had put on a fair amount of shaving cream and tried to get the stain out - to no avail.
  3. She then tried vinegar, which also proved to be unsuccessful.
  4. She then used an entire can of a commercial, off-the-shelf type of carpet cleaner. No success.
  5. Then her husband came home and was not at all pleased in the spilling or the cleaning attempts. He used their home shampoo machine with clear water for an hour on the spot and had limited success.
  6. She called us first thing the next morning.

I called you and went through this entire story and your recommendations were to extract as best I could and get it as dry as I could, then apply Stain Magic according to the suggested procedures for using Stain Magic. I did just that and the next day, the husband called our store and informed our receptionist that “your carpet cleaning man is a genius. The stain is gone and we will now live happily ever after.

Thanks for treating a “genius” with good, solid, effective advice.

Sincerely
