Fabric Softener on Carpet - How to Remove
Fabric Softener Spot & Stain Removal from Carpet
- Blot up excess liquid.
- Blot with alcohol. This thins the fabric softener and makes it more water-soluble if the softener has dried out.
- Extract.
- Note that fabric softeners are cationic and, therefore, void stain-resist warranties on the carpet
If the fabric softener spill is extremely heavy:
- Use the Water Claw® Sub-Surface Spot Lifter to more thoroughly flush out the spill.
If stain persists:
- Stain Magic® Stain Remover treatment may be required.
- To prevent wicking, heavily sprinkle Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
- The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
