Fabric Softener on Carpet - How to Remove

Fabric Softener Spot & Stain Removal from Carpet

  1. Blot up excess liquid.
  2. Blot with alcohol. This thins the fabric softener and makes it more water-soluble if the softener has dried out.
  3. Extract.
  4. Note that fabric softeners are cationic and, therefore, void stain-resist warranties on the carpet

If the fabric softener spill is extremely heavy:

  1. Use the Water Claw® Sub-Surface Spot Lifter to more thoroughly flush out the spill.

If stain persists:

  1. Stain Magic® Stain Remover treatment may be required.
  2. To prevent wicking, heavily sprinkle Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
  3. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
