- Petroleum Based Stains: Petroleum Derivative - Examples: Gum, Grease, Tar, Ink, Adhesive, Glue, etc.
- Biological Stains: Stains originating from body secretion - Examples: Vomit, Blood, Feces, etc.
- Synthetic Based Stains: Stains containing man made dye - Examples: Kool-Aid®, Fruit Punch, Colored Candy, Cough Syrup, etc.
- Organic Based Stains: Stains from a natural source - Examples: Wood Furniture, Mustard, Coffee, Mold, Tea, Urine, etc.
- Of course, I have to add 1 more - “OTHER” that does not fit any other category!
PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL OF CATEGORY 1 STAINS (Petroleum):
- Apply Pro-Solve Gel Spot and Stain Remover and agitate gently with the Carpet Shark Spotting Tool to dissolve deposit.
- Apply Power Gel and agitate gently to emulsify and suspend deposit.
- Use hot water extraction to rinse thoroughly.
PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL OF CATEGORY 2 STAINS (Biological):
- Apply Pro-Zyme Heavy Soil & Grease Digester solution, agitate gently and allow a few minutes dwell time.
- Rinse thoroughly using tepid water extraction.
- If wicking is a concern, apply Stain Blotter Anti-Wicking Absorbent Powder absorbent powder to cover wet area.
- Vacuum thoroughly after area is completely dry.
PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL OF CATEGORY 3 STAINS (Synthetic Dye):
- Prepare a mixture of equal parts Red Relief® 2-Part Color Stain Remover solutions A & B.
- Wet stained fibers with this Red Relief Solution.
- Cover stain with a wet terry towel from which you have squeezed the excess water.
- Apply steam heat from an iron set to the lowest steam setting.
- Check stain every 30 seconds and discontinue heat when stain has disappeared or changed to a light yellow color.
- Hot water extraction rinse to remove chemical residue.
PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL OF CATEGORY 4 STAINS (Organic):
- Prepare a mixture of equal parts Stain Magic® Stain Remover for Organic and Natural Stains solutions A & B.
- Apply Stain Magic solution liberally to stained fibers.
- Allow to dwell until stain disappears. This may be up to 8 hours for reaction to reach completion. For furniture stain and mustard (curry), cover the area with plastic after applying the Stain Magic and remove 8 hours later. Mustard may require the use of the Stain Magic Energizer & Detection Light.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Use caution when working with natural fibers as color loss may occur.
- Always test the procedure to be performed in an inconspicuous area before proceeding.
