- Sulfuric acid in car battery will destroy carpet fiber!
- IMMEDIATELY sprinkle baking soda onto area to neutralize the acid and work in until the “fizzing” stops.
- If the acid spill has dried on the carpet, moisten the area with water in order with more baking soda, work in and allow to dwell for up to one hour.
- THOROUGHLY extract with an alkaline detergent, such as PCA™ Formula 5.
- Permanent damage may have occurred.
- Nylon is dissolved by most strong acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric (muriatic) acid.
