Ball Point Pen Ink Stain on Carpet - How to Remove

Ball Point Ink Spot & Stain Removal from Carpet with Pictures and Video

Church Carpet Cleaning Job

The problem of an ink stain on carpet on a rug is nearly always from the same source - a dog chews up a ball point pen and creates a mess on the carpet

Ball point ink is extremely concentrated - a little goes a LONG way Simply blotting with a solvent such as Saf-T-Solv™ Dry Volatile Spotter or alcohol will simply make the spot larger and force the ink into the backing and make quite a mess.

Instead, use Pro-Solve Liquid Solvent Spotter and Stain Magic®.

Procedure to Remove Ball Point Ink from Carpets and Rugs:

  • NOTE: Ink Out, previously used to remove ball point ink stains, has been replaced with Pro-Solve Liquid Solvent Spotter which meets the the Clean Air Act requirements.
  • Ink Out has been replaced with Pro-Solve Liquid.
  • Mix equal parts of Stain Magic®.
  • Mix equal portions of Stain Magic.
  • Liberally apply the mixed Stain Magic to the perimeter of the ink stain, but not directly on the stain. This will act as a barrier to reduce spreading of the ink stain, making the stain even worse.
  • Apply Stain Magic around the ink stain.
  • Apply Pro-Solve Liquid to the area stained with the ink.
  • Apply Pro-Solve Liquid to the area stained with the ink.
