How to Remove Adhesive Tape Residue from Carpets and Rugs

TOOLS NEEDED to REMOVE SPOT:

CHEMICAL AGENTS NEEDED:

PROCEDURE to REMOVE Adhesive Tape Residue from Carpet or Rug:

  1. Apply Citrus APS to spotting towel.
  2. Wet contaminated fibers with Citrus APS™ Spotter on the towel and blot.
  3. Agitate with your Carpet Shark or a Bone Scraper to loosen tape residue and scrape up loosened residue.
  4. Thoroughly extract.
  5. Dry blot.
  6. NOTE: Saf-T-Solv may be used instead of Citrus APS.
  7. To prevent wicking, sprinkle Stain Blotter absorbent powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.

IF SPOT or STAIN REMAINS:

  1. Wet contaminated fibers with Pro-Solve Gel.
  2. Agitate gently but thoroughly with your Carpet Shark or a Bone Scraper to dissolve contamination.
  3. Allow dwell time.
  4. Apply Power Gel to contaminated fibers.
  5. Again agitate gently but thoroughly.
  6. Very thoroughly rinse using hot water extraction. Leave as dry as possible.
  7. To prevent wicking, sprinkle Stain Blotter absorbent powder on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
  8. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • NEVER apply strong solvents directly to carpet to avoid delamination.

He used Saf-T-Solv™ solvent spotter to remove the adhesive tape residue from the carpet, then presprayed the area with TLS® 2000 and extracted with Bane-Clene truckmounted extractor containing a mixture of PCA™ Formula 5 and Booster
