Polyurethane Spot & Stain Removal from Rugs, Upholstery and Carpet
- If a fresh spill and not very heavy:
- Blot up.
- Use Liquid Pro-Solv.
- If it has dried:
- Blot with acetone.
- If this fails, the affected carpet section may have to be replaced.
- Moisture-cured urethanes can only be removed with very strong paint strippers containing acid activated methylene chloride, which is toxic and will definitely delaminate the carpet.
