Rust Stain Removal

  1. Vacuum up loose rust.
  2. If rust is very old and heavy:
    1. Treat with Whink®
    2. Follow the safety precautions carefully!
    3. Follow with wet extraction.
  3. If the rust is light:
    1. Apply undiluted Pro’s Choice Rust Remover.
    2. Agitate with Carpet Shark.
    3. Allow to work about 1 minute.
    4. Extract.
    5. Dry blot.
  4. To prevent wicking, heavily sprinkle Stain Blotter on area to absorb any material that wicks up.
  5. The customer can vacuum up the Stain Blotter the next day.
  6. On some carpets, the carpet will turn pink in the areas treated with rust remover. If this happens, simply apply non-sudsing ammonia and the pink color will normally disappear.
