Fingernail Polish Spot & Stain Removal from Carpets and Rugs
Procedure from Bane-Clene®

- Fingernail polish is extremely difficult to totally remove.
- The goal should be to reduce it as much as possible without destroying the carpet or the backing.
- If only the fiber tips on a cut-pile carpet in a very small area are affected, snip the tips with the Duckbill Napping Shears.
- If the spill is extremely severe, you will probably need to patch or section ("cookie cutter") the affected area by removing it and replacing it with remnant from elsewhere.
- Otherwise, blot with acetone or fingernail polish remover until all the polish that you can remove is removed.
- Stain Magic™ with steam may be required to get rid of any remaining stain.
- Pro-Solve Gel and Pro-Solv Liquid are often effective in removing fingernail polish.
