Dye Bleed Stain Removal
from Bane-Clene®
- On occasion, especially with olefin/nylon berber blends, some bleeding of new carpet may occur with its first cleaning. This might occur, for example, where red or blue is used in speckles in the berber.
- Simply apply 30 or 40 volume clear hydrogen peroxide to the affected areas, leave about 15-30 minutes, and extract to stop the bleaching action.
- This procedure will often remove the small amount of dye bleed without affecting the main dyes.
- Of course, if this is a mill defect, the mill should be contacted first.
