Betadine and Iodine Spot & Stain Removal from Carpet
Betadine is a common treatment for wounds and for prep before surgery in hospitals. It is a very common stain also in nursing homes. Betadine severely stains fabrics, rugs and carpet.

- Thoroughly extract the area. If a heavy spill, use the Water Claw®.
- Apply Red Relief (mixed solution) to the stained SYNTHETIC textile fibers - use Red Relief for Wool if a natural fiber.
- Cover the spot with a damp, lightweight terry towel.
- Apply steam heat from a steam iron set at mid range temperature.
- Allow the iron to treat the spot for 1 to 2 minutes checking every 30 seconds.
- Stop if carpet dye is being removed.
- Remove iron and towel - spot should be gone.
- Rinse spot and leave as dry as possible.
