Stone, Tile and Grout Care and Protection Training Class

In April, a well-attended all-day Stone, Marble, Tile and Grout Care class was conducted at the Bane-Clene Indianapolis training center by George O'Regan, Technical Services Manager for StoneTech Professional™.

There is a shifting trend toward using more natural stone in both interior and exterior installations. This all-day comprehensive hands-on training session covered in detail identifying, cleaning, sealing, polishing and restoring natural stone, ceramic tile and grout.

Just a few of the topics that were covered were:

  • What is porcelain tile?
  • What is natural stone?
  • Different types of grout.
  • Chemistry of cleaning and sealing.
  • Cleaning & sealing procedures.
  • Pre-inspection.
  • Pricing of your services.

  • Determining type of stone.
  • Hands-on cleaning of grout and tile.
  • Hands-on honing and polishing of marble.

The next Stone Care class is scheduled to be held October 22, 2009 at the Bane-Clene Indianapolis training center. This class has been approved for one IICRC Continuing Education Credit.
