According to CRI, a survey says that consumers are unhappy with carpet cleaning and maintenance. Ten years of carefully following consumer complaint sites on the internet shows that carpet cleaners get a lot fewer complaints than carpet installers who gather the most.
Unrequited promises by carpet sales people and specifiers run a close second. Among the 3rd place cleaner related complaints, very few are about method, equipment or chemical products. Most cleaner related complaints about bait and switch advertising, the use of profanity and rude behavior by cleaning people.
