Oops!

Video tape archives revealed a gem from 1979. In an office procedure workshop, Elizabeth Bane gave a talk on answering the telephone. When she took questions from the audience, a man bemoaned the fact that his telephone receptionist was curt and gave short answers to inquiries. “She doesn't answer the phone promptly and sometimes she doesn't even give me my messages." Then he said plaintively, "What can I do?”

Elizabeth said, “You’d better get rid of her or she’ll hurt your business.” To which the man replied, “I can’t. I'm married to her.”
