Anti-Allergy, Allergies and Carpet Cleaning

The word allergy, derived from the Greek word "allos" meaning "other" and "ergon" which means "work", is defined in medical dictionaries as "a hypersensitive state". If a person has an allergic reaction to something, what they are really experiencing is an altered or exaggerated reaction.

Allergy-type reactions can be induced by either immune mechanisms (too much allergy antibody IgE) or by a direct hypersensitivity to an irritating fume, vapor or medication (as occurs with codeine and strong perfumes).

Allergic reactions are caused by the interaction of a person’s immune system with the outside world. Foreign proteins, especially small proteins from pollens, molds and dust mites can cause an immune reaction in an individual due to the sensitivity of an individual to small particles in the air or other substances that result in sneezing, redness of the skin, etc. The most common cause of allergy complaints is dust mites with cat dander.

  • No volatile solvents.
  • No deodorizing.
  • No dry cleaning
  • No strong perfumes.
  • No post treatment products.
  • Rinse with clear water after cleaning.
  • Dry the carpet as quickly as possible.
  • Keep children and pets off the carpet or furniture overnight.
  • No enzyme products.
  • Avoid the use of bleach and ammonia.
  • Customer should not be in the same room where you are cleaning.
  • In severe cases, do a clear-water rinse after cleaning.
